Student testimonials

I love learning about the universe! The James Webb Space Telescope will allow us to really understand where it all started and will allow us to glimpse our distant past and maybe even our future.

Learning about the James Webb telescope was exciting. The Hubble has brought us lots of information, but what the Webb will bring us is even more exciting science as it will be able to go so much farther.

Educator testimonial

In 8th grade, the students broke into groups and then researched and designed a telescope of their choosing. Groups did the Hubble, Yerkes, SOFIA and two groups did the James Webb. They had to make a model that was entirely edible. As you will see from the pictures, there was a bit of a difference between the Webb groups as far as how involved they got with it! The girls’ model was incredibly heavy and took several pounds of fondant. The boys kept it simple! After they made their creations, they had to give a short presentation to the rest of their class. Q had a blast!
