Telescope: James Webb Space Telescope
Project type: Research / Communication
Project status: Completed

West Creek Elementary School shared astronomy with the community during a Science Night.  Students learned about the James Webb Space Telescope by building edible models out of food.

Our son enjoyed the edible telescope so much he talked until 11:00 last night about it. We finally shut his door, turned off his light, and told him to go to sleep. He’s never been so excited about anything educational!

Walking through the court area, I had a pack of students. They told me they are going to work for NASA one day. I asked if they wanted to be an astronaut. They said no. Those people are crazy. We want to work on huge telescopes or make a satellite like the one they learned about!

Educator testimonial

I was asked if we can do it again next year... too many times to count.
