Overview

First graders learned about the James Webb Space Telescope and worked together to create a model of the primary mirror. Students learned about the shapes and tessellations while building their model primary mirror. Hanging in their classroom window, their creation looked like a piece of stain glass.

Educator testimonial

My students enjoyed learning about the James Webb Space Telescope and how it will impact future science exploration and discoveries in their lifetime. As a first grade teacher, I was excited and intrigued to see their interests spark, as my students came up with thought-provoking questions, utilized their note-taking skills, and displayed high-level comprehension, while learning about the James Webb Space Telescope.
